About Actuarial Auditor

History

SALT Solutions first auditing tool was a spreadsheet in the late 1990's to validate our client's reserves. The tool became formalized in 2003 when state regulators requested a Windows based program (SAVE LIfe) to replace the popular DOS based GPCV program. SAVE Life was useful but also resulted in challenges because IT departments were required to install the software. In addition, version control became a challenge as enhancements to the system made it difficult to keep everyone using the same system. This resulted in a slower than desired process of updating the system to meet growing customer needs.

As a result, Actuarial Auditor was created as a web tool to address these issues. Actuarial Auditor only requires the user to have an internet connection. Both Internet Explorer (6.0 and greater) and FireFox are supported. There will never be any need for software installations or down loads.

Present

Currently, Actuarial Auditor supports all of the Traditional Life calculations that SAVE Life supported. Like SAVE Life, the user may save their input into a database to retrieve for later use. This securitized database is backed up on a daily basis to preserve your data. UL reserve calculations will be the next major addition to Actuarial Auditor. Separate license options will be available for the UL version of Actuarial Auditor so that customers only need to purchase the license(s) that meets their needs. See pricing for more details.

Actuarial Auditor supports Statutory and Tax accounting methods. The majority of valuation methods and product designs (current and historic) are supported.

Future

In addition to preserving historical formulaic methods, the movement to the Principle Based Approach will be supported as its need approaches. Contact us if you would like to discuss your needs for meeting Principle Based Approaches.
